How should I store Stella cheese?
Store your Stella cheeses at the proper storage temperature of 33-40 degrees F. The refrigerator can be a very drying place for foods, so make sure you store your cheese in an air tight container to keep it from losing moisture.

After purchasing, how long can I keep the cheese?
Unopened packages will be good until the sell date on the package. Once opened, we recommend using it within 7 - 10 days.

Where can I find Stella cheeses?
Stella Cheese can be found in most grocer's dairy or deli cases.

Can I find Stella cheeses everywhere in the country?
Yes, they are available nationally.

Is Stella available in Canada?
No, not at this time.

Do Stella cheeses contain anything hydrogenated?
No, Stella makes natural cheeses. They do not contain any hydrogenated fats, oils or acids. They only contain milk fat.

Do Stella cheeses contain lactose?
The majority of the naturally occurring lactose in milk used in making cheese is removed during the cheese-making process. However, the finished cheese still contains a trace amount of lactose. So, unfortunately, Stella cheeses may cause problems for people who are lactose intolerant.

Is Stella safe for diabetics?
We would recommend consulting a physician.

How does Stella make Blue Cheese?
Blue Cheese is made using a microbially derived enzyme called rennet. Rennet is not of animal origin, rather it is a term used to identify enzymatic milk coagulants. A variety of sources are available and used throughout the industry.

How does Stella make the veins in the Blue Cheese?
During the aging process, we punch holes in the cheese curds. Blue Cheese mold then grows in those holes. The Blue mold produces the characteristic color, flavoring and veining.
